This girl is fantastic. She makes things clear and approachable, so it’s easy for “non-spoonies” to grasp, I think. #chronicillnessawareness

Oh, wow what great advice, I’ll just not think about it.
Nothing makes me more upset than when people tell me to just not think about it.
I have daily fevers. I’m constantly sweating. My hands and feet are painful, tingly, and icy cold.
My heart rate bounces between 50 bpm to 200 bpm all day long. I black out every time that I stand up, because my heart rate increases by more than 30 bpm when I stand.
I can barely pick up my feet and walk most days. I have horrible tremors. I have a heck of a time trying to walk up stairs. I can’t walk and carry things.
I wake up at night screaming to painful leg, neck, foot, and back cramps - or just during the day while in a meeting, or watching tv, or driving.
My hands hurt too much to text, hold a glass of water, or drive. I feel like I have the flu everyday - I get a sore throat, burning ears, nausea, fatigue, and chills.
I am currently in the fetal position, because my stomach is in painful knots. I have been reaching all morning. My head feels like it might explode. My eyes hurt. And I’m just so tired.
There is simply no way for me to not think about my symptoms. They literally slap me over the head. There’s just no way to ignore them.
Telling you not to think about your symptoms is gaslighting - it comes from a place of ignorance, apathy, and misunderstanding.
Raise your hand if you’ve ever been told to ‘just not think about it’. 🙋♀️
Never stop advocating for yourself!
